A maestrina Joana Carneiro foi nomeada Directora Musical da Berkeley Symphony. As novas funções irão somar-se ao já bastante vasto currículo internacional da maestrina portuguesa de 33 anos.
"She exhibited a level of commitment and enthusiasm and passion for making music and binding the orchestra together in a way that I have rarely seen in my professional career of 35 years," said Franklyn D'Antonio, the orchestra's concertmaster.
"Her interaction with the musicians, and the level to which she brought them in four rehearsals, was remarkable," said board President Kathleen G. Henschel.
